IN need of new tyres

Hey whats up guys i got a zx6r 05 model and i'm a heavy road rider person i just wanted to know what tyres would u guys be buying if your a road person i heard there's alot of new good one's but which one would u guys pick that suits best for u

This is the top 3 that i'v been looking at so far and i'm looking at spending anything from $450 to $600 As a set.
Please let me know which tyre u think would be the best for everyday streetriding

I didn't like the 021s on the Sprint. They went off really quickly, especially in the wet. The Michelins have been great both on my bike and my son's YZF600. Good feel and good wear. Felt a little squirrelly on a track day at Broadford, but for road riding, high speed touring (Great Alpine Road) and commuting they've been great.

I've got the Pilot Road 2 rear fitted now - it's done about 5000kms with about half that touring. Very happy with it. Done a lot in the wet and it's great.

Have a matching front to be fitted yet.

You'll get pretty good wear from the Road 2's - but the Power Pure's are awesome for grip !!!

I run road 2 rear and Power 2CT front. Great grip confidence, good wear and so far have lasted well too.

How hard do you ride and what sort of road riding do you do?

If you commute heaps and have 2cm chicken strips you are going to want different things out of your tyres than someone who only rides the twisties on weekends like a GP rider.

Also, different bikes react differently to the same tyres ie. my big heavy ZRX works better with Metzler's than Michelin's but many 600 riders prefer the opposite.

There are a lot of great tyres to choose from these days and the truth is all of them are much better than most riders on the road need, but if you can be a bit more specific about what your riding needs are you will get much better feedback.

miles? When I got my bike with 9000k on it the OEM 014s were still on there with 2cm chicken strips and square like a car tyre think the guy brought the wrong bike!

In my experience of sports tyres and commuting, once tyres "square off" significantly the bike starts to feel like shit turning into, and in the corner, almost like you're riding the ridge that's been made.

It's this feeling that prompts me to change my tyres before the wear markers are due. I'm fine with this and will keep using stickier tyres because of doing track days on my roadie.

Had pilot powers and now Glen's Crim's 2ct's. Love Michelins!

I have Michelin power pures on my Z1000. Admittedly a Z1000 does not have the suspenders of a pure sport bike but these tires are amazing. The weight savings alone transformed the handling and I've got about 2,000 miles, (3200 km) on them and the wear is neglible. Traction is Ok in the wet but I felt more secure in the wet with my Conti road attacks.

I've got a BT023 front and a BT021 rear and quite like them but I do a lot of touring type riding. Seen good reviews of the dunlop sportsmarts in the british bike magazines.
