New Helmet

Post by Dingus »

Its a bit big and has extremely limited vision, but I think it suits the bike and gear well :)

You need to try them on... Price is secondary to fit and comfort... Wether that be cheaper or more expensive...

Agree with Fit and Comfort..

Im not too helpful.. Ive always had shoei.. never any major drama's.. fits my nut well..
I ride everyday (rain, hail, shine) my 3yr old helmet is on it's second set of cheek pads, 3rd visor, but is starting to whistle and let the rain and the occasional flying critter through the vents .. time for an upgrade..
It all comes down to how you ride it.....

Hey guys. I recently got a SHOEI 1100 series helmet. Via Rider's Discount for $450ish. Shipping was $90 unfortunately, but you still get a top end helmet for < $550 (the equivalent of the lower end SHOEIs in Aus).

Sure they lack the sticker... but still, protection wise you've got the pinacle of helmets!

Wowsers that's cheap.

Have you guys seen the glow in the dark Shark helmet?

That's the S900 series. I'm tempted to grab one as a spare helmet for that price. ($280) plus whatever delivery costs.

shoei x1100 area noisy helmet, the lighter and more ventilated a helmet is the noisier it tends to be.

Mikeman, according to Australian law a helmet without the sticker is equivalent to you not wearing one at all. Voids your insurance and it is a fineable offence and probably points.(don't know your state's fines)
