How do I....?

Post by StuMiller »

I just had my new race glass delivered to me from Wet4Uracing and I have a question....give there are no screw holes, how do I fix this to the bike?

Attached are a couple of photos. There is a bag of screws, however the tail piece doesn't appear to have any mounting points.....?

Thanks!

Step 1 don't buy from WFU
Step 2 you have to do some work to fit them perfect, check & double chek then tripple check before drilling the holes, get someone to help too!
Step 3 thank god that they have fitted the Dzus clips for you, they can be fiddley at the best of times
Good Luck

Some people buy from him.
some people wont.
some people are desperate & have no choice.

I am sure you fall into one of these categories

You can't see little indents where the holes shoud be? When I got mine from Fibrezone they did.

......and I reckon about 99.9% of us fall into one of these two categories. The last time I dealt with the toss bag he wanted me to place an order on line for Tyre warmers and then he'd get back to me via email with a price

I would actually pay a premium to deal with someone else.

Hey, looks like a G model zx6 ?

I have one of these as trackie also and it came with some W4U bodywork, I can photograph the mount points tonight if you like.

BTW, will you be using the "H" bracket for the top fairing (nose cone) mount?

Step 4, buy a fiberglass repair kit (supercheap auto etc), use a small amout on resin/hardener on the inside of the fairing around each hole after you drill. This will help prevent holes widening once in use. You will also have a nice repair kit should it be required.

Yes, I figured that's where I'll need to make holes....although the screen seems far too narrow for the top fairing piece...

Hey Matt, photos would be most appreciated. My trackie is a 1999 ZX6 and as for the "H" bracket, I'll let you know once I get to attach the fairings.

I'll keep you posted!!

Cheers!

I've had zero issue with Wetty, he's done more free work on my bike than i have ever paid for at any dealer.
Always willing to help at race meets at no cost...
Cheap tyres, $10 tyre changes....

As far as fitting i held mine in place with race tape then marked all the holes then drilled out with the dremel, easy done.

as for looking to narrow once released from the mould......things can alter shape.. but when put to required fixings and supports on bike some resemblance to originals should appear......depending on how old and repared and or supported the original mould was when layed up
