Fairing suppliers to suit 84 gpz750

Post by leep »

Hi all

Im chasing supplier contacts for fairings to suit my old girl, so far I have found a mob in the U.S called air tech but that seems to be it so far, does anyone know of any OZ suppliers? Im chasing the side and belly pan panels to add to my existing top fairing.

any help would be appreciated

cheers

Try handcraft fiberglass...you might have to ring as they don't seem to have a catalogue.

Leep - you are unlikely in the *extreme* to find a current-day supplier of a fairing from a bike that is 26 years old mate. Back in the mid-80's, no problemo. But suppliers generally only stock current or late-model stuff. They won't be keeping stock on the shelves for any of these old rigs from the early 80's.....

Airtech is good to deal with, although their fairings and seats are built for track use - they are light and thin. Not really suited to everyday road use. OK for occasional use or track-days, etc. If you do use them for a daily runner, it would be worth adding some additional layers of glass to strengthen them up....

Best bet is to place an ad with Findapart, and see what is out there at the wreckers. OEM glass is nice and strong, for the most part......

I got just *really* lucky finding my lower fairings.
I just happen to be trawling Show and Go's website and spotted them. Gave them a call and they happen to still have the fairings.
I dont think Ive seen another set for sale since.

FYI, what youre after is a set of 1985 model lower fairings for the GPz750 (ZX750A3), not to be confused with the GPz750R (ZX750G)

the set that Lurch picked up were in pretty good nick considering the age. These fairing lower pieces also were not all that common even back in the day - but I reckon have a nudge on Findapart anyway, you never know what is out there....

good luck mate - the little 750's do look pretty good with the full-fairing fitted. I am not sure if Lurch ever posted a picture of Goose here ( his GPz750) - may be worth having a search, I think I have a photo of it somewhere as well...... ;)

hang on - here it is ! :kuda:
