ZX12R High up exhaust?
Hi Guys,
Got a customer wanting to fit a high upo exhaust on his soon to be ZX12R. None of my suppliers have anything suitable and I haven't seen anything other than stdt position.
Does anyone know if there are any space issues for having such a system fitted (slip on is what we're after)?
Looks like we may have to resort to getting someone bending the pipes, got that sorted, just want to know the feasability of fitting 2 small cans underneath the tail.
Thanks for your feedback! Ride safe, falling down hurts!

Re: ZX12R High up exhaust?
dunno about 2 small cans in the tail
where do you hang the stop light and plate (and its light)??
the bottom of the tail is all plastic so you will need to add some sort
of shielding or protection from heat (and what holds that up?)
the rear spring/shock assy doesnt leave much room to get some pipes up ...from under the frame
so that might be fun with tubing
good luck

Re: ZX12R High up exhaust?
Looks like it can be done. Do you know the brand of exhausts? Has the rear been jacked up a bit?
Thanks, looks like I had the right idea to ask on here! Keep them coming, the more info the easier it will be for us!

I'll continue sifting through the search results. Unless you have a link?

Thanks guys,
Found the owner of the pic and have sent him an email. Anyone seen any other high up set ups? This will keep my customer happy for a little while!

Devil used to do same style of pipe for 1000 Honda so maybe it was them?

Re: ZX12R High up exhaust?
We are aware of the Devil set up, they don't make it for the ZX12R anymore, plus they're a pain to deal with, the current importer doesn't reply to anything and the factory want us to use their importer here.

Re: ZX12R High up exhaust?
each to their own, but as a ZX12R owner, I think those under-seat pipes look shithouse on the Barge.
Have a look at the footpeg. Then imagine riding that bike, with your toes on the pegs. You would burn right through the inside/rear of your right boot, or ride with your right foot poking out at 45deg from the peg !! Totally impractical. Apart from that, you would lose all the storage area under the seat, and from the looks of those tail-pipes, the ECU would also need to be relocated.......
They just look.......wrong - on that bike.

Not my call! What the customer wants, he gets!
We might end up going for the Shark twin short carbon ones from the GSXR1000, we should get it looking good, if I can persuade him to change his rear light, will post pics if we have succeeded. Might look for longer dog bones to raise its arse a little.
