Don't think Julia would have challenged unless she and her supporters were certain of victory.
Will be interesting to see what happens. He is certainly going down swinging...

Re: Rudd Gone
you could be right - but I think Gillard has been pushed into a corner with this ? She may have had little choice but to put up a challenge.....
Rudd would be the first PM to be tossed out of office by his own party in the first term of government.........and this is a bloke who was more popular than Bob Hawke only 6 months ago !!!

Re: Rudd Gone
Must be difficult either way. Heard some discussion on this a while ago and they said that Gillard wouldn't challenge before the election. If Rudd looses the election then Gillard can take over. If Gillard tosses Russ now and looses the election then she is stuffed as well.

Re: Rudd Gone
Laurie Oakes is on the box at the moment, and made a good point that the Liberal Party are shitting bricks - if Gillard gets the job, she will be a much harder target for the Mad Monk.

I think gillard will win she is a ruthless and intelligent person...
Will be interesting to see her policies if she does knock him over...

Re: Rudd Gone
They'll call an early election if Gillard wins to blindside the people into voting for Australia's first female PM while she is still popular, the rest of us won't see what happened

Re: Rudd Gone
I like Julia, but i would want to see what her policies would be. Although in some ways changing liberal for labor was great, in other ways it was taking a major step back in thinking/attitudes. I'm starting to think about what other parties have to offer.
As to state govt, i want those fuckers out, they've had their run.
