Weight Loss

Post by Mikey84 »

hey all,
im a big guy (135kg) and am really looking at loosing some excess kg's, as most of you on facebook have probably seen the ads how to loose weight fast, get ripped, ect ect.....

well i thought stuff it, why the fuck not? im not into getting ripped or anything like that im just wanting to shed a few extra kg's and start feeling healthy again, to start with im quitting these damn ciggies, im really fed up with the bloody things :x , ive tried patches and gum but they dont work  so am going to the docs tomorrow to see what they can give me! :?

anyway enough about the smokes, ive ordered the bottles and have recieved 2 already am just waiting on the third, if they work i'll let you know, im a bit skeptical on it all but im willing to give it a crack :) once the third bottle arrives i will get back to you in 4 weeks, remembering im 135kg now, im hoping to get back to at least 100-105, cross you fingers and we shall see if this acai berry formula actually works

heres the link :kuda:

Please post pics, in the same pose as the dodgy before and after pics on that website. That would be hilarious. Pretty please!
I could be wrong, but I don't think *anything* can do that to a human body in only 4 weeks. But, as an unsuccessful loser of weight, don't listen to me, as I can't talk! I wish you luck. If this doesn't work, maybe talk to people who have lost a decent amount of weight *and* kept it off for more than a year?

For the smoking: The book, Allen Carr's Easyway to Stop Smoking did the trick for me. I long believed that the mental aspect was more important than the physical aspect. I don't think there's one answer to quitting smoking, what works for one may not work for another, but reading a book is pretty low-impact on your health and wallet, if you wanted to give that a go before spending bunches of money on nicotine replacements and medications. Life is much, much better on the other side, as a non-smoker! And this is from someone who decided that if I still wanted a ciggie after 21 days of not smoking (it takes 21 days to remove all the nicotine from your system - any cravings after 21 days are mental, not physical!), I was just going to give up and be a smoker. I'd decided I'd rather be a smoker, than a non-smoker who was pining for a cig the rest of my life. Let me tell you -> I've had 2 cravings since that 21 day period. 2 mild cravings in 7 years (1 of them was when I was totally drunk). And I thank that book for showing me how to break the mental addiction to smoking so thoroughly (even though it's written quite poorly, the message is good). It's not a life sentence of sadness and unfulfilled cravings waiting for you when you quit -> it's freedom. Better taste buds. Less stinkiness. Better health. More money. More self-respect and pride in yourself. Good luck!

Don't want to be a downer mate, but what's wrong with a bit of exercise and a strictly enforced diet? Not the rabbit-food-only kind of diet, but a balanced one where you control your intake of carbs, protein etc.

A couple of my mates are personal trainers, and that is essentially what they've advised me to do. That, and quit the smokes, quit the drinking and quit the late night kebabs. You can probably see why I haven't committed to this lifestyle yet ;)

All the best to you though. Hope you get abs of steel like in those pics :kuda:

Mikey,,

Good luck! and I look forward to hearing how it goes! :D

I myself am skeptical.. Not so much that the product works.. but more because it is coming from the states(i think?).. and I'm extremely dubious about any product that says "we'll keep shipping/billing you until you contact us to advise us not to stop" .. especially as one of them has a 10 day trial period at which time they bill fully? what the hell do they expect to happen in 10 days?

Mate, its a lifestyle change to lose weight and keep it off. I went from 130kg to my lowest of 83 to join the firies. Am back at 95 mainly due to doing more weights and just doing a couple of runs a week and the occasional treat :D

If you really and I mean REALLY want to get it off you will. There are no permanent quick fixes. Its hard work and its not gonna happen overnight. Think about how long it took you to get that big as it will probably take you just as long to get it back off. You can only put on or lose a couple of hundred grams a day in body fat. So if you have an off day which I and we all do it can be turned around in another day :)

Smoking is a hrudle I didnt have to overcome but as a guide, I did it with a combination of jogging/walking one day and swimming the next. Jog when you can and walk when your overpuffed. You should never be totally out of breath. Go for a min of 25-30 mins but dont go forever as you need to back it up again tomorrow and everyday after that!

I never changed my diet specifically as I found when I excercise I crave healthier food options. When I dont do anyhing for a couple of days thats when the bad food starts and its time to go for a run! Its a lifelong cycle mate but I have to say life is so much better for me these days! And being a little more fit keeps the Mrs happy also ;)

There is plenty of support around here. Just dont get on the Wattie racefit diet and you'll be fine ;)

GOOD LUCK :kuda:

thanks everyone for your support, ive offically stopped eating mcdonalds, kfc, subway and all that other shit a week ago now, im back to eating fruit and salad during the day, cereal for brekky and making sure ive always got veges on my plate for dinner, so i think ive got the diet under control, am now looking at a gym membership or rent some eqiupment, dont know if you have seen that excersise thing that you hook on your door, by randy contour MMA fighter, am also debating on that as well, so i have something at home to play with.
i found that riding more often helps with the quitting smoking, i have managed to quit before for 8 months and i felt like a new man, i know ive got the will power its just getting it back again, like you said cath its all in your head!

as for the goofy before and after pics cath, why the fuck not  it will be good for a laugh, i wont post the pics on that site but i will post them here  :kuda:

im totally amazed rob, going from 130 to 83 thats a huge leap, good on ya buddy, bet you feel different now :) as for me i probably will never get to that weight im naturally big, broad shoulders huge chest and mammoth legs  if i can get to 100 i will be stoked!
