depends what your bike likes. I put caltex 98 vortex in seems to like it. Higher octane level burns cleaner. Its about 15 bucks to fill up so might as well go the good juice :D or av gas

being carby it'd be better using premium 95 not 98 because of the cleaning products in 98.. I run my 09 250r on 95 as everyone has told me about the premum 98

Def. not, there's so many things in bike riding that raise questions when you're first getting into it! (and well beyond)

95 is the money in my Carby GS....... I'm sure others know more but from memory octane rating/temperature/jetting/air pressure are all interrelated right?

What have you put through it so far? Maybe try a tank of each and see how your bike likes them.

In an old rig like that - all you need is 91 octane - standard unleaded. Its basically a waste of money putting higher-octane fuel in a stock 600R. Put your money into suspension mods mate !! :kuda:

You'll need to speak to one of your local bike shops, and find out who the 'guru' is down your way...

I think Walter Presig(?sp) from YSS has a factory/shop - a location anyway - down in SA. He is pretty good with suspension stuff - he deals in YSS suspension, I use some YSS shocks on the rear of the P5 hybrid racer. They work really well.

traveling is allways an option when the bike has to have work done to it so no matter where he is ill get it there.

Ive got the new 2010 Z1000, and from the first load of fuel i put in (RON98) it pinged at low revs. I tried all the major suppliers 98 premium fuels, all had the same problem. Pings on acceleration, either be light, moderate or heavy throttle, between the revs of 1,500 to 3,500RPM.

Yesterday, i tried something a little different. put a tank load of 95 in, gave it 50km to get the old crap out and new RON fuel in, and all fixed. Pinging all gone, havent lost any performance, doesnt smell any different, and to early at this stage to say what the litre/km is going to be. (on 98 it is shithouse anyway. about 13km/litre).

My work deals with fuel, and i spoke with some of the riders at work. A few guys had mentioned the same thing with their bikes. Massive range of bikes, from R1's, goldwings, R1150GS and so on...
So it seems not all engines like the higher octane fuels.

just google it mate :D - YSS is the name of the suspension company that Walter owns. They make a huge range of suspension for all sorts of bikes.
