At the very least check the fine and the very fine print.

For instance does it say 'return to the dealer for servicing' or 'return to the dealer for repairs''? Either way it'd blow chunks if you are in NSW.

To me it sounds like not a bad price...

Yeah read the fine print......... usually these extended warranties are not worth the paper they are printed on, due to the exclusions and the hurdles you need to jump over to get something done..........

You will also find the warranty is probably not with the dealer your buying the bike off, but through some independant company.......... personally, I would never touch an extended warranty, so look at it very closely..........

Then again you are buying the best bike available 8) ;) so you shouldn't need a warranty anyway

im getting the bike from team moto. and they have a shop in sydney, i have to get the bike serviced every 6000kms or 6 months. supposedly i can get it serviced anywhere as long as its a mechanic. it covers up to $6000 in the 3 years. should i just chance it and get the bike for 11500? is that a good price?

thanks heaps for the input guys

2007 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R

Valuation Prices
Price when new (RRP) $18,990
Trade in price guide $8,200 - $9,700
Private price guide $11,300 - $13,400
That was from Redbook: http://www.redbookasiapacific.com/cs/bi ... p?R=118362

Looks ok, especially as it's done so few kilometres.

read the fine print that 's the total payout for 3 years ?? and its limited to a certain amount for specific claims  and they throw it on your very expensive finance agreement

I sell extended warranties at the shop for treadmills etc and they cover up to 5 years parts and labour and they start after the manufacturers warranty (generally 2 years parts and 1 year labour) has expired. They are underwritten by Lumley Insurance. The cost works out to between 5% and 10% of the purchase price, don't sell very many of them at all. I don't purchase extended warranties on anything I buy as generally too many conditions.

I guess you need to balance out the cost against what may go wrong, is that model known to have any specific problems that may occur in the next 3 years and if you are financing it then you are paying the $1000 over say 5 years at say 15% then you will pay $427 in interest (total of $1427) for the pleasure :?
