Not so dodgy ebay fuel commander!!!

Post by Kermitz750 »

Hey guys,
Just received and fitted a new Nitro X Fuel Commander today from Ebay for my Z750 (delivered from Athens Greece of all places!) this thing ROCKS!!!!!! It does everything it says it does on the site. I just switched the dip switches to 100% and held on! the front just wanted to go skyward. there are 15 different programs you can use but i don't know why you'd bother with the other 14 coz the main reason for getting this is to squeeze as much power out of the Z as possible.... anyway check out the website (ebay online shop) and see for yourself. it only cost $69, a bloody bargain if you ask me. and no mucking around with laptops and dynos all day trying to set it up right. it just connects with 2 wires to the 2 airbox sensor wires...thats it! and you dont plug the sensor back in..

good luck. :kuda:

Yeah, I'd like to see a before and after on the dyno.

It sounds to me that all it does is short out the airbox sensor with (probably) various values of resistors. Not sure of the long term effects of doing this either :?.

Looks like a very expensive resistor

hows your fuel economy?
they have these things for cars and all they do is trick the ecu into thinking its taking in cold air so it pumps more fuel. yes it goes harder, although it shoots your economy out of wack :P

I'd also check the air fuel ratio...

Yeah I'm aware of the fuel economy being reduced but the fun factor kinda outways the high fuel consumption. I hope it doesn't stuff the engine though!

to much fuel is better then not enough fuel at higher revs, down low it may make it hard to start when warm etc etc, id also be worried about it doing damage to your exhaust and such..
as dave said id get the A/F ratio checked to be on the safe side

I'd also like to see one on a dyno to make sure it isn't running lean  ....

Running a bike lean would make it seem like it's got more grunt to yeah?

I had a similar gadget that i got off Ebay and put on a Z1000. The one i bought only cost about $20 though.Definately gave it more berries in the low to mid range (alot easier to stand it up). Top end? unsure. All they do is trick the airbox sensor to run super rich. Have a look at how the bike is burning. Mine used to run very sooty and black at the pipe. Running the Zed to redline and backing off sharply made the bike blow large 1 ft long blue flames out the pipe  as it backfired all the way down the rev range

In the end, I took it off as i was concerned about the long term effects.

The problem with running these cheap alternatives is you dont know if its leaning out at certain points of the rev range. After trying one out, id buy a PC instead. worth the coin
