first bike -
Hey,
I'm a inexperienced rider, and I'm looking to make my first purchase of a 250cc bike.
I didn't really want a thrashed cbr250, so I have been looking at the ninjas.
Wanted to ask if I should buy brand new 2010 model or maybe 09'. Or should i go for a used 08/07 bike.
I would be looking to upgrade eventually but it would a fair bit before that happens, at least 2 years.
Is the re-sale value good on the 250r ?
thanks

Re: first bike -
Resale on 250's isn't bad because they are popular and relatively cheap to begin with.
I WOULD NOT be buying a brand new bike for my first one that's for sure!
No doubt you will drop it at some, or several points and if it's new, you will
spend more time crying than riding
Just get some cheap ass shitbox that you wouldn't care about for at least the first six month's

I bought a brand new 2010 250R with no riding XP. As long as you take it easy for the first couple of months you will be fine. I've had mine since last october and haven't dropped it yet. They are an awesome bike to learn on. They go really well therough the corners, and must say they turn a few heads (ladies love it

Re: first bike -
i would definately get a second hand one, alot of people do 3-4 thousand K's and decide riding is not for them, and its basically brand new

Let the good times roll.

Re: first bike -
thanks guys
il think il just go with a 08 model
they look nice, most have under 15k traveled. and are usually 5-6 grand
just put a nice exhaust on it
