Cranky at my visor!!!!
Sooo. Left work late last night and got hit with some lovely brisbane rain. Was a nice zenfull ride untill my visor decided after 6 months It no longer felt like being an 'anti fog' variation... Maybe 6 months is its used by date...
How long have people found it takes for you 'Anti fog' to become 'not so anti fog'??

Re: Cranky at my visor!!!!
I've never found standard Anti Fog visors to actually be anti fog!
I've always used an insert, such as the Fog City or similiar, which work perfectly, for the life of the visor!!
recently, I bought a new tint and clear visor for my Arai (after 4 years) and stuck some Pro-Grip anti fog inserts in them. They are Photochromatic, so they tint in the sun and clear up when the light is low. So far (2 months) they have performed faultlessly. Even up at Lavers Hill in 12 degrees and rain, it remained perfectly clear. even in the slow stuff where there is not enough wind to clear a visor, it stayed clear! The Pro-Grip is a little cheaper than the Fog City branded ones also!

Fog city are ace! i had one im my last helmet, you could purposefully breath heavy in it and it would not fog up.

I've got two now. I've got the neoprene one that velcro's onto your chin bar, absolutely faultless but takes a bit of getting used to on your nose, and I've got the standard Shoei clip in breath guard that's not as good as the fogg off thing but pretty good so long as you breath downwardsWattie wrote:Fog city are ace! i had one im my last helmet, you could purposefully breath heavy in it and it would not fog up.![]()

It depends how much you clean it, I got about 4 months on my first because I religiously cleaned both sides, my second did 12 months with only cleaning the outer side (and the inner on a rare occasion)

Re: Cranky at my visor!!!!
I used to start work 4:30am so I would ride out at 3am in all sorts of cold/stormy weather. Shark RSX 3mm anti scratch anti fog....NEVER fogs up...I can hold it 2mms from my mouth and try the mist it up and it just wont. My other shark, the rsi, fogs up when stationary....but once moving is better, still fogs a little though.

Try this until you can get your fogcity visorJaykay wrote: How long have people found it takes for you 'Anti fog' to become 'not so anti fog'??
Got any shaving foam ??
spray a little on the inside of the visor and polish it off with a soft cloth

Neat washing up liquid works too BUT contains salt so can put minute scratches in the surface of the plastic
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.
