Reps to Peter Stevens Service Centre
Bit of a story, but it started with me picking up a nail in my 1000Km old rear Pilot Road 2. It didn't seem too big, nor too far from the centre line so I opted for a repair. Being that the company I work for has moved a couple of blocks from Peter Stevens in Melbourne, I thought I'd take the wheel in after work and get them to fix it for me.
I arrived just after 3pm on Monday, and was told:
1. I should not have pulled the nail out (But the tyre hadn't lost pressure and I wasn't sure it had gone through)
2. They were too busy to look at it Monday and I would have to leave it with them.
3. They were unsure if it was repairable and would have to take the tyre off the rim to check.
So reluctantly I left it with them and drove in again on Tuesday (I hate paying city parking). After work Tuesday I retrieved the fully inflated wheel, paid my $45 and enjoyed 4pm city traffic on the way home. At home I refitted the wheel, tensioned the chain and decided to give the bike a wash. As I washed the rear wheel I notices air bubbles coming from the repair, found they had missed the original puncture mark by 3mm and both original puncture and the 'repair' were leaking air.
Once I had calmed down I politely called the service centre and explained that their repair did not hold air. They asked me to return for them to check it out, and I said it seemed a slow puncture and I would be able to ride in next day (today).
So today I rode into work, started at 6:30am, left just after 9 to take the bike in and returned back to work. 2:30pm and I had heard nothing, so called and was told it was finished, but the guy wanted to check the repair and would call me back. 10 Minutes later I get the call back and he says it is better but leaking air very slowly. He offered to fit a new tyre minus the cost of the repair. I said not good enough as I would not have to buy a new tyre if they had not stuffed the repair, remembering they would only do the work if the tyre was repairable. Guy said he would have to ask his manager and would call me back.
By 3:15 I had no call, so I decided to walk over and see how it was going (I finished work at 3 anyway). On arrival guy said they were fitting a new tyre, so I kicked around for 30 mins, played chess on my mobile (won which is rare) and finally my bike was returned.
And just to cap it all off, I was told to be careful on the new rubber and they put on a little sticker too…

All I paid was the initial repair cost - hence I am giving them reps.z900/zx9 wrote:So what did peter sleeze bag slug ya in the end ???

Re: Reps to Peter Stevens Service Centre
Sounds like PS is giving away new tyres to any unhappy customers now?
Yeah it looked a bit too deep to remove at deer park, did you yank it out later?
Worked out good in the end

Since buying my new zeddy from PS melbourne, I can say i've had nothing but good things to say about them.
Servicing has been spot on as well as getting my tyres done. Friendly staff as well.

Something must have changed then I guess as their servicing used to be SHITE!

Re: Reps to Peter Stevens Service Centre
I have a long frustrating story that I love to tell when I have an hour... it has to do with the complete lack of service I was given by them.... and then the complete lack of compassion I was given by the manager when I complained.
Peter Stevens service department can get raped by a rottweiler for all I care.... They dont know their arsehole from an elbow about service and slightly less than that about motorcycles.

The world is round. It has no point.
