tinted visor tear offs

Post by dilligaf »

after losing a $90 visor to a christmas beetle whose guts turned to araldyte just after he hit my visor and stuffed the coating I'm thinking of wearing tear offs on the road this spring. came across tinted visors on e-bay
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... %26otn%3D4
thought I might as well use tinted ones if they work OK and wondered if anyone used anything like these and if they'd be OK on the road.

Have only used tearoffs at the track & problem is if they get wet & the water gets between them you will loose visibility & if you get dust under them they will scratch your visor

Bug off but test it in a corner to make sure it won't eat the visor or the coating

use dark tinted visors not Iridium.

if bugs becone attached hot water works a treat to soften the bugs.

but best bit about dark tinted ones is you can clean them without scratching the crappa out of the shiny iridium.

Yea, I agree with Wattie with regard to the tinted versus iridium.
Also Vuplex/Plexus are superb cleaner for tinted visors and help leave a protective film that makes subsequent removal of bugs and dirt even easier. Its best to leave it on for a minute. Or failing that Mr Sheene. However they don't work as well on the iridium, seems to upset the colouring a bit.
