Yoo-hoo! Welders! Over here!

Post by Cath »

I have snapped my crash knob bracket. To replace the bracket on one side is close enough to the cost of the full kit (two brackets and two knobs), that you'd just buy the whole thing again. I'd rather not pay for a whole new set of crash knobs, just because the bracket is snapped.

So, I was hoping someone who knows something about welding could tell me if it's possible, practical, and if they'd mind doing it (and what they want for welding it up for me). It doesn't have to be too pretty, as it will be mostly hidden by the fairings.

Cheers

Can't believe it broke the knob aswell  , aren't they meant to protect your bike not break themselves ;)

If someone is really good at welding it should be ok to just patch it up

I actually discovered the bracket was broken a few weeks ago - no idea how or when it happened. I had the knob temporarily tied on, so it did help in the recent drop, but I'm going to have to get it fixed permanently anyway.

And it's all good now Tim - I managed to sweet talk a welding member into swinging past my place and picking it up - Home delivered service :kuda:

Thanks for the offer TSZX9 - I've already gotten a welder to do it. One of the ksrc members who was out riding today welds and offered to do it for me.

But thanks for the kind offer anyway!
