Help...no crash knobs for 2000 ZX-6R, puhlease!
Help...no crash knobs for 2000 ZX-6R, puhlease!
Hi Everyone,
Just been informed that year 2000 was not a good year for the planets to align and crash knobs to be available for my ZX-6R. I have no experience with crash knobs and some experience with crashing, so appreciate any feedback as to what others are using.
Please don't say..."just don't crash"...thats already in my plan.
Thanks,
Cate

Re: Help...no crash knobs for 2000 ZX-6R, puhlease!
im on my phone at the moment so its a little hard to search but there is a thread going about crash knobs for 95, 97 and later models. Ive seen a few on a 97 but they seen to be fairing mounted and some 95s which had the fairings cut to fit them. When i get on a pc ill do some searching if no one else adds to this

R&G ones are available but require holes cut in your fairings. Good for trackbikes but no good for a road bike. The Kaneg ones bolt to the fairing mounts and are OK for what they are - the ones I had on my 9 held the fairings up in a 100km/h lowside at EC.

the R&G ones also provide a new coolant res....
hadn't seen the kaneg ones b4... if i had these my stationary drop wouldn't have scratched my fairing n cost me a fk load... in new decals (fkn pricey as!) n paint... might look at these

How did the mounting hole hold up to the crash Dave? I had the kaneg ones too but removed them after seeing some photo's of where they actually broke the fairing mount causing more damage than would have occurred if the bike just slid on the fairing.dave#3 wrote:R&G ones are available but require holes cut in your fairings.
