exhaust power gains

Post by Hugo :o) »

Hey fellas, i own an09 250 ninja and would like to know:
1.How much of a power gain would you get from a slip on exhaust?
2.How much of a gain from a full exhaust?
3.is a micron pipe better than yoshimura?
4.and final question is, what else can i do to get decent power gains?

1 Not much

4 Just learn to ride the farker to its fullest potential then worry about lack of power.

As has been said many times here don't waste your money on 250 mods..... save your cash for the upgrade to a bigger bike later ;)
its a much better investment & any money you spend now (eg pipe) will not really add value to the bike.... trust me ;)

1. Just buy a fender eliminator to reduce drag
2. Use BP Ultimate fuel
3. Buy some frame sliders because you will drop it

That's all you do to the 250's

The gym is the best way to make the 250's go quicker

I heard a 250 ninja with micron pipe on it the other day. Was funny becuase i could hear it for a long time bfore it came into sight, at first it sounded like a harely and was surprised to see it coming from a 250. Having said that, not sure how much power, if any is gained from the pipe, but imo the exhaust sounded TOO loud, and im not sure what an overlly loud exhaust achieves, more sound than go most of the time
I dont think the pipe will give you such a difference of power that you will be amazed, probably be a bit for a week then you will get used to it and still desire more power even after spending x dollars on a pipe. Not sure if you are a new reider or what not, but to get faster i just riding the bike and getting used to it and then being able to get faster through corners over time.
I can understand the wanting for more power, and if you go your licence recently, NSW at any rate its 3 years of restriction, lucky i got my bike licenc early before those laws came out.

Hope that helps :kuda:
Let the good times roll.

+1 and maybe a few trackdayz ....acheiving max corner speed from a stock 2fiddy and rounding up a coupla homos' on their italian twins is almost better than sex !!! ...... [so I've been told   ]

Seriously Hugo , concentrate on maintenance items like brakes , suspension etc ... put the best tyres you can afford on it (ref newbie/LAMS)and just fucking ride it . your certainly not the first and won't be the last on the topic.. 8) ;)

i know lots of cbr250 riders that go faster by making up stories,

one of them was dragging his knee on the pacific highway! not the old pacific highway the dual carriageway
same guy is 65kgs and tells you he has to eat 4 steaks a night or hell muscle.
TOOL!

look at the EX250 site and find out what different shocks you can put on. and what suspension mods you can do.
i had great fun messing with the girlfriends gpx250 and trying to get it to handle better.

to go faster just learn how to ride it better. if your a good rider through the hills on a 250 you will beat the posers.
1 just take the muffler off and get it re jetted.
2 Paint some HUGE red flames on it.
3 extend the swing arm, to make it massive.
then its a machine haha
