Re: GPX250 Mudguard and indicators Question
Hey Nomad,
You can't remove the mudguard, as it's all of a unit with all the underseat stuff - but you can cut it off.
You might want to buy a 2nd hand one from a wreckers to play with so you don't stuff up your original.
You can put bulbs in those 2 lenses, but it's not legal. The lenses are too close together for ADR - <300mm, which is why they're empty and you've got stalks on the side.

Re: GPX250 Mudguard and indicators Question
you could try
one of the older models ('86? '87'?) had the orange lenses and globes so you might find one of them to scrounge.

Re: GPX250 Mudguard and indicators Question
dont you just sand the paint off and the yellow lense in underneath??
i'd do it.
i got pulled for my numberplate angle, and while the copper was there he measured my aftermarket blinkers and said they were too close at 220mm.
so when i got home i busted out the original guard that it went through ADR's with, and it measured up at 190mm

Re: GPX250 Mudguard and indicators Question
At least for my '89 there was no paint - had red lenses with empty sockets.
I think some models did have black panels though, so you might be right there - perhaps they were just painted.

Re: GPX250 Mudguard and indicators Question
Just FYI; My '90 has two black panels, they aren't painted, they are just solid black plastic, moulded to look like indicators COULD fit on top of (or in) them.ty wrote:At least for my '89 there was no paint - had red lenses with empty sockets.

Re: GPX250 Mudguard and indicators Question
I'd be very surprised if they weren't compatible. I don't think anything has really fundamental has changed on the GPX for decades (except for the twin vs. single front discs)

Re: GPX250 Mudguard and indicators Question
Did this to my 2006 GPX250 that I sold early last year. Cut off the mudguard with a hacksaw and finished with a file. Then made a aluminium bracket and re-used the original indicators. Also has to remove the panel in the brakelight and fit a clear panel to illuminate the number plate.
