09 ZX6 review

Post by Green Machine »

Well I had the opportunity to take one out for a ride today, I must say its about time kawasaki may finally have the goods on this one. The bike looks suprisingly like the 10 but once you hop on you now your in the land of super sport.

Ergos:]

Unlike the 08 model I can actually see the speedo without having to put my neck out to see under the screen. Bars are up a tad higher not much, but they may have to do with the steering head angle change as well. Everything is easy to find use and see which is great unlike the 08. Seating position is very comfortable for a sports bike almost too comfortable. (enhances the lazyness in me)

Engine

Well I dunno how many of you rode the 08 but you almost had to ride the thing likea 2 stroke. There was nothing down low, now OMG there is power everywhere (for a 600) cruise along doing 60 in 4th and bam, twist the wrist and shes all there without have to go to 16grand lol. Its very usable all the way through but also still potent for the expert rider as well.

Looks

Like a baby ZX10 with no bug eye indicators.. CHOICE!!!!! :o :o :o

Overall

I think this bike will give the novice rider a great deal of confidence riding it. Its so easy to lean and maneouver thru turns and the usable power isn't going to snap a novice's arms out. Saying that It may be a little too comfortable for the novice alike and it may give them that false sense of power over the 600. For the pro/expert rider Kawasaki has finally heard the call and pulled their finger out producing a good super sport 600 that may well set the bench mark for the 600 class to come. Get a little excited and this baby comes to life. Its so easy to corner power, is absolutley everywhere and it looks a treat. What more can you ask for?

Its so much better than an 08 model. I know its a kinda crappy review and someone prolly has done one already but I thought Id share what I thought.

let me know what you guys reckon

thanks for the review GM, im always reading these things on 6's as i hope to upgrade to one, just dont know what year :D

most people i talk to say that a 600 is a good step up in power from a 250. As a 250 requires constant wrist lock for it to move anywhere. Do you think that the 09 model separates the stepping stone a little bit further for newbies?
ie, would the 09 be more aggressive and less forgiving on the throttle and an 06-08?

no way. the 09 is the best of both worlds.. its got useable power down low so if ur lazy like me you can squirt around in 4th 5th no worries. But wanna enjoy it take it to 7/8k rpm and ull have a grin from ear to ear

I spotted a limited edition Monster ZX6 at Kelens in Penrith looked great. $17+ on road
Now what would I get for a trade in on the 7?

nope you can pick the 10r up for that now. some people may just like the new 6. wait 6 months and the price will come down.
