any one tried velocity stacks on 03 zx12 ?
Re: any one tried velocity stacks on 03 zx12 ?
i've got a set of blue ones on my 05 bike, like they say there for low and mid-range power gains.
Have you thought of a set of adj. cam sprockets they're cheaper and would be a better performance improvement, though unlike the 14 the gears they need to be pressed off and the new ones pressed on.

what sort of improvement did you get with these ones ? Is it worth the money ? (upwards of $400 ...)chuffed wrote:......i've got a set of blue ones on my 05 bike, like they say there for low and mid-range power gains.....

My bike has no flat spots right down low unlike a lot of other 12's with full systems, though unfortunately i added the velocity stacks at the same time as the ignition advancer and the two did make a fair improvement though i can't definately say which was responsible for what.
Are they worth 400 bucks, not compared to pulling the flies or dropping one/two teeth on the front. Is a new yoshi slip-on worth 1200 bucks? If so then maybe they are. I never paid that and probably wouldnt, thats half a muzzy stealth kit

Re: any one tried velocity stacks on 03 zx12 ?
thanks mate - I've done the flies and -1 on the front sprocket, and it still does have a *really* small flat-spot right off idle. Its possible to just clutch over it when taking off from the lights, but if the timing isn't *perfect*, it can bog down a tad......I might have a look at the ignition advancer first and see how that makes an improvement.....
