Changes to Ride height of 2006 zx10
OK, whats everyone done to the front and rear of their 10.
Iv'e dropped the front 5mm and about to raise the rear, just after some advice for what has worked. It is a track only bike, running standard size hoops.
Going to raise the rear 6mm for the next track day and see how it goes.
cheers

I haven't done anything yet, but am planning on doing so very soon. Let me know how you go.

Fronts dropped only 2mm and the rear stock with sag set at 30mm... No help Sorry Russ but I thought at least 1 reply to your thread was better than nothing

Did it make much difference changing the front?
Im looking at the raising the rear but not sure what to use for a shim, so was going to drop the front 5mm instead.
Was ground clearance an issue?

For the 9 I just used a couple of washers.
I whacked in a couple of washers last night, never measured the increase, but I'm happy with the result. Turn in is alot quicker now.

It chess terms "Castle it"
Thats where you leave it alone as long as possible. Then when they are least suspecting it. Move it 3 bays to the left & replace it by moving "a Crim" in from two bays to the right.
They're usually all green at the track so you may even get the sucker loaded before the cops arrive.
In all seriousness though, I'd be looking more at Tyre styles, profiles & pressures to make it steer as quick as possible.
2cs.
cheers Nanna

Due for a new set of slicks so will speak to craig about profiles and see what he recommends.

Re: Changes to Ride height of 2006 zx10
Honestly i believe this is asking for trouble as the front end will be weighted from the raising of the tubes 5mm but now your going to raise the rear 6mm therefor adding more weight to the front end which will push/plow through corners and lessen the weight on the rear reducing traction allowing it to spin more freely with a loss of drive out AND cost you more $$$ for tires than normal. It will also cost you in straight line stability.russ_2000_zx9 wrote:OK, whats everyone done to the front and rear of their 10.

If you go higher @ the tail, then make sure that the front spring rate is high enough for it eh

cheers. If I have any issues with it I will get it sorted properly by you. Not really going quick enough to actually have to worry about it now, just playing really as we all like to do.
Thanks again.
