The blue bullet got its first workout yesterday & the first noticeable thing was up shifts going down the straight, I would normally change up without a clutch all the time but the six on a few occasions on hitting redline would not change & required a real heavy foot to engage the gear is this normal?
Being a new bike it could just be rider input error but none of my other bikes have been this hard to engage gears down the straight.

Mate,
I never used the clutch up or down on my 05 636 but until about 3000k's it took a bit of ankle pressure now it's just the slightest up tilt and the tinniest blip on the downs she changes no issue.
BTW do you have rear set on the 6?

no rear set's yet but I might have to invest.... I found the toes scraping on both sides forcing me to adjust my old habits of toe on the very end of the pegs, maybe one day on the bike is not enough to get used to it ....but it did feel goodPlasma Blue 636 wrote:BTW do you have rear set on the 6?

Had no problems upshifting with the 06' 636 without clutch. I always use clutch to downshift though. Reckon it'll be a timing thing between applying pressure to changer and backing off throttle. More time on the bike will be the only way to tell. So come to EC on the 8th Jan!!!!

Re: Gear changes 06 ZX6R Track Bike
Im having the same problem with my '07 10. I wasnt using the clutch at the its first track day and it didnt like it... Had a few track days since then and have to use the clutch, and still having trouble to get it to shift up when the revs are high. Even had it hitting false nuetrals a few times!
I think Im gonna trade the fat b***h in for an 08.
