Z200, good or bad

Post by jimbo84 »

Hi guys, I'm a brand new to this, I already own an old KDX200 for the weekends but am looking to buy an old Z200 1981. I know they're not the fastest bikes around but they seem like a good old bike to do up and pass onto the missus when I'm sick of it. Was hoping I could get some advice as to their reliability, performance, top speed, value, etc. The bike is in good nick, and around $900, what do you think? Do they have an collector value? Anything would help. Cheers, Jimbo

Bad...... the heads chew out real easy on these because of a lack of maintanence, so I would get it sussed by someone in the know or it could end up a money pit for you.
I think you could do better for the money ;) say a Z250 but they have the same head design
Oh & welcome aboard Jimbo ;)

Hey robracer, thanks for the reply mate. I might take your advice on this one and hold out til I can afford something I'll want to keep for a bit longer (and something that will last). Cheers, jimbo
