Back protector

I'm looking at purchasing a back protector and would just like to hear of others' experiences with them, ie comfort, support, good brands, etc. I've been looking at the Dainese ones they have at MCA and came across a couple by Alpinestars while searching the world wide web. Any info would be appreciated. Also, i should mention, i am leaning towards the Dainese one at the moment.

I've got a Dainese one, feels comfortable. Can't comment on its effectiveness thankfully

Dainese are rated one of the best because of the honey comb core!!!

I however got mine from the states with the same technology but for a lot less.

Do a search this has been covered a few times I think you'll find. Best suggestion I can offer is try one on with your bike jacket and helmet on, find what fits and then order it OS will be a fair bit cheaper probably. Important to try it with the helmet on as if it sticks too far up at the neck it will get uncomfortable real quick.

Thanks Mick, i'm considering the os option also, just wish the dollar was a bit better at the moment

I'll be trying a couple on but i think i should be right with the neck issue, i'm 6'2 with a long pencil neck!

Thanks guys, did a quick search but was mainly looking to ppl's opinions on comfort, support and which brands rate. I'll probably end up with the Dainese, it seems to get a pretty good review. Now to go and try one on for size!

personnaly i found the rjays one suited me better than the big brands,plus at $90.00 was just a bonus.The dianese seemed to be too curved and annoyed the base of my spine

I found the Dianese comfortable but have to tie up the kidney straps hard to stop it riding up my back. It worked in a minor spill that I landed left shoulder first and felt the protecter lock in as I rolled. Would never ride without it now... Good Luck

htfu mike!!! haha, no seriously id imagine u do want comfortable as a top priority, dont wanna have your mind distracted by anything , be it a back protector wriggling up your back or digging in or any other type of gear that distracts you or hinders your operation of the motorcycle

I use a Dianese with the honeycomb core (Wave 3)and I dont notice it while riding , its that comfortable . Also its cooler than others I have worn .

Thanks mate, I can see where your coming from there........I just happen to like this "walking", i've come to realise it can be pretty handy from time to time
I'm hoping to try a couple on for size this week sometime and see how they feel then go from there. I like the look of the Dainese wave type, it seems to cover a very large area too!
