New paint scheme - suggestions?

Post by bishboy »

The new fairing for the ZXR has arrived and I am considering a change in paint scheme.

I do like the existing colours as they are the same as the TKA bikes at the time (the existing carbon fibre fairings are ex-Mladin) and it would save me from painting the tank and tail piece, but I would extend the blue along the belly pan (leaving just a strip of white where the Kawasaki is) so I can put sponsorship for my business (yellow on blue as per sign beneath the bike picture below). The wheels and mudguard would be painted to match the 'winning' scheme.

All (reasonable) suggestions will be taken into consideration ;)

The bike currently looks like this:

I'm thinking these days if I ever get a trackie it will be red, with white and black stripes. Sort of like this, but a motorbike :).

I thought about the blue with yellow lettering but I might paint the R1 those colours (and along with the ute - did someone say Elite Racing Team 8) ) but would probably prefer to keep it in Kawasaki colours.

Maybe this shade of green with a large sticker for the business name (like the ssangyong sticker)

Can't see me painting it orange  but I do like the green on the motogp bike, wouldn't do it as a race replica though, how would it look with the grey/silver frame?

How much effort would be involved in painting the frame and swingarm, I've never removed the engine (and everything else) from a road bike (only motocross bikes), would it be worth the effort or is it just too much hassle (more from a time required point of view).

I'm going to have to also paint the R1 (oh the shame  , but then I could sell it an buy a 10 :D ) when the new fairing arrives, how about the motogp green  or would the Yamaha white motogp be better (again without all the race replica stickers)

Anybody know of a good (ie; cheap ;) ) spray painter/panel beater in Brisbane who does bike fairings, I have an old client who is a spray painter who does good deals for me, but it can't hurt to look around
