If it hurts, you aren't doing it right.

Brett, I dont know if chrome has changed since I was on the tools (40 years ago) but the best bet was to take it to the local electroplater and he could remove it in his plating bath.

...agree

having worked in a platers over the summer months as a spotty teenager...many moons ago
(had to earn beer money somehow)...the best advice I can give is go to a platers and get
them to strip it (as long as its not false plating on plastic  )

cheers

Thanks Gents, The 2 into 1 Trumpet on Rhett's 250 has been polished back to metal & a sneeze makes it rust up so .........
and
I've been "polishen'" mag wheel sets (Chrome Cragar 5 Spokes) & was thinking of bead blasting a around the outside rim on the stepped flat surface. This is where the water sits & bubbles the chrome. Then whacking some "2 pack" on them like a big ar$e rim sticker. I know of the hard platers in regards to forks & shocks but it's more about removing bubbled or thin chrome for asthetic purposes. 8)
Cheers Nanna
