Re: girlfriends going from ps to full licence
er6 would be a good choice and a smooth step up
the f of course cause it has fairings

Fairings are over ratedluis kawi wrote:er6 would be a good choice and a smooth step upthe f of course cause it has fairings

You'd probably find that the ER6 and the hyosungs 650 being a v-twin has the same kinda power. I rode an '04 650 a couple of years ago (de-restricted) and it felt like it had less power than the de-restricted monster 620, also a v-twin. If she's confident and understands the consequence of using the throttle than the zx6 isn't a bad choice as such. It's just about whether she wants to take the time to learn how to ride it properly. Especially if you go a newer model you are lookin at 100Hp instead 120 or whatever they are putting out these days. Although being 5'4" might have some problems reaching the ground, but you can also lower it easily enough. Z750 might be another option (100hp?). Test ride time! Always fun.
See here, young man,

There's none can ride like me.

Re: girlfriends going from ps to full licence
early model ZX6R (but myself and crime above might be a tad biased
) is a bloody good bike.... Z750 would be good if she likes naked and more mdoern looking bikes... tho used ones are a bit thin on the ground and still fetching 7500 at a low point.....
i think these new bikes would be good tho....

Re: girlfriends going from ps to full licence
I have a 2007 ER6n and at 5'6" I was touching the ground with the balls of my feet which wasn't as stable as I liked. I had it lowered and can now touch my feet flat which has boosted my confidence greatly.
At 5'4" she may have a bit of trouble but I guess the best advice most people can give her is to go out and sit on as many bikes as possible. Maybe get out to the Motorcycle show next weekend and have a look around.

ps. Make sure she checks out the GRO (Girls Ride Out) stand
pss. Sorry for the plug guys

If she wants something that she can well and truly touch the ground on,heaps of get up and go,extreamly well maintained .Say a seat height of 740 mm this sounds like a job for Kazzs ZZR 600 which happens to be for sale

Re: girlfriends going from ps to full licence
yep thats right about Colette, i was speaking ot her about that, not a bad idea for shortys.
Depends what sort of bike's she likes, after all it is her's! Unless you buy it! haha
the ZX6 isnt a bad choice, i steped up from 250 to 636, but that ws bit radical. Z750 or Z1000 is a good choice. Babe on a Streetfighter
Otherwise a Crim
(seeking 250 bro's)
