Re: How true
Harsh? Yes.
True? Maybe.
I spend alot of time behind the wheel (70k in the last twelve months) but I have noticed far fewer police and cameras on the roads in the past 3 years than were previously. It bugs me too. I diligantly watch my speed and mind my p's and q's for fear of losing a single point and yet I regularly see people flagrantly disregarding the law in respect to speed, mobile phones, general road laws. Even with the current TAC billboards sporting bullshit about coppers with radars and the current focus on speeding I still haven't seen any! Nor have I seen people pulled up on the roadside with red and blues proclaiming they're stupidity.
If ever there was a time to commit a crime in Vic - no matter how small - now is it! Fuck all in the way of TOG, a police force that is full of Dykes and Homos ( thanks Christine ) that will give you a hug and a pat on the bottom to send you home and too few on the ground as they are tied up doing meaningless shit - including cruizing King st in taxpayer funded Hummers and then taking shitheads back to a "time out " area for a cuddle.
More power to the coppers I say. Bring on the new Commish!
So....editorial aside...don't blame the coppers. Blame the fuckwits they work for.

Re: How true
Got to say I totally agree with you S&W
I too cover your mileage and as you say the lack of marked cars is disturbing, almost got sideswiped on the Eastlink this afternoon by a chick drinking a coffee in one hand and her mobile in the other - steering with her knees I think ?......... maybe they could rig the cameras to operate when a mobile signal passes under them ? The photos are often good enough to "see" the driver, so maybe we can get the nice sargeant, you know- the one who posts the letters out, to check them for their phone up to their ears ??

I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.
