That's why I titled it "for us oldies"........... ya know , the ones with mechanical abilities who are used to tinkering about on the road side with a bit of a cigarette box for a feeler guage not a farkin air conditioned garage full of electronic whizzy ma thingies :D :D

A bit of cigarette box - bloody flash bastard - we had to grow a fingernail if we needed a feeler guage. Our nut and bolt storage system was a set of cleaned jam jars with the lids nailed to the under side of a shelf and you needed an entire set of imperial spanners to complete the simplest task.

I wish I had a dollar for every time I have heard this !! (Nortons were made in the US a few years ago, and they looked pretty good actually.....)

I'm with you Rossi, the young'uns these days wouldn't know a feeler guage from a set of points !!!! If its any harder than plug'n'play, well give it to a mechanic at $140 an hour !!!! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Inchometric or milloperial ???

You know your old when you are fluent in Whitworth sizing / still have a roll of cork gasket in the shed (just in case) have a points file and magneto spanners buried in the bottom of your toolbox somewhere and still think these new fangled disc brake thingies are a touch "savage" :? :shock:

You know your 'experienced' when you see these things as valued treasures in the ol man's shed :) :)

let me see......Old or Not.

Whitworth sizing ? NFI at all, *phew* wipes brow, thats none out of one...

Roll of cork gasket ? hmmmm no (that shit is up at the old mans place ;) :D ) thats none out of two.....

Points file ? I think there is one buried in the bottom of an old tool box somewhere..... :oops: - 1 out of three

Magneto spanners ? not on your nellie, I have no wish to commence any relationship with Lord Lucas - The Prince Of Darkness. Thats one out of four so far...looking good ..... :D

New fangled disc brakes a touch savage.......Hell Yeah !! Epic fail. Thats 2 out of five.....

I guess that makes me.................NOT OLD !!! YAY !!!!!! :lol: :lol: :lol:

now can someone fetch my pipe and fluffy slippers.........

Earlier in the year there was an article in AMCN about the Norton rotary racebikes and a return to racing with it in the BSB. I also remember something about the Norton factory being built over a section of the Donnington race track (Melb hairpin?).
