Quick question about seats

Post by NinjaMoses »

Hi all,

Ive been lurking here for a few months now but thought it was about time I registered. I own a green ZX9R C1 and live in Perth. :)

Anyway the reason why I joined, does anyone know if 00/01 model ZX9R seats (front & pillion) fit 98/99 model bikes?

Thanks,

Kris

Welcome mate.

See http://www.buykawasaki.com

and see if the part number for the 00-01 seat is the same as the 98-99 seat part number.

Funnily enough I already had the parts bit open so I checked them for you. The rear seats have the same part numbers, but the fronts are different.

...oh yeah, welcome Kris!

The part numbers will be different because the seat padding was different.
On 2000 models onwards, the riders seat is noticeably softer and more comfy than the 98-98 models, so the fact that the part numbers are different doesn't mean the seats aren't interchangeable.

Thanks guys. :)

Hrmmm Im guessing if the rear seats are the same, a solo seat cowl would most likely also be the same.

Is there an online parts catalogue somewhere that Im not aware of?

Cheers,
Kris

Yeah, the one Mina has a link for above. You can look up part numbers and diagrams for just about every Kawasaki bike ever made!
