My latest weekend ride.

Post by zx6rider »

I hope everyone doesnt get sick of my writing about my weekend rides!

Today (Sunday) turned out to be a good day, better than the cold wet days that we have had recently although we do need the rain here in central vic. Rolled the 6 out of the shed at about 1.30pm just after I had picked up my son from a birthday party, he wanted me to pick him up with the bike, but that would have meant I would have had to ride on the dirt!!!
The 6 sprang to life and after warming up I headed of down the Calder toward Castlemaine, stopped at the BP in the main street of Castlemaine to fill up with optimax, and meet a mate with his VTR 1000 (yes its a Honda, but I dont hold that against him!). Continued on to Daylsford where we stopped for a bit and watched the world go by, and compared the Kwaka and Hondas good and bad points (Kwakas good & Hondas Bad  ).

From there we headed toward Hepburn and then turned toward Newstead. I gave the 6 a squirt a couple of times and let the VTR play catchup on the way to Newstead. Turned toward Maldon from Newstead and took a quick hike up Mt Tarrengower (again, see last weeks post).

At the top of Tarrengower was a Kangaroo that was injured or something as it was hoping in circles, and after a couple of minutes tried to ride pillion on the 6 by almost hoping into the back of the bike!

Deciding that a Kangaroo pillion wasnt a good idea and riding was the order of the day I headed down Tarrengower and back to Bendigo.

Beaut day for a ride, covered about 140km and loved every minute of it, great to be back on the bike after so long without one.

Hope I havent bored everyone, please feel free to comment, let me know where some good rides are around central vic.

Ride Safe ;)

Definitely not boring to read about people's rides ... it's good to see some people in Vic still riding regularly. Keep up the ride reports and enjoy that might 6r of yours!
