30.000 km is my average. Avoid clutch wheelies and keep the chain clean.

I've never clutch wheelied, only done a few power mono's and generally ride really smooth - like 9000km out of a Dunlop Qualifier rear kinda smooth. Chain gets lubed every 500-700km or so, depends on the ride/weather etc.

Always got about 30-40,000 km out of a chain on the CBR, so thought 13,000 was a bit shit.

Yeah I would've though thats pretty short. Mines got 18,000 on it and I reckon it'll be good for 30k. I'm pretty anal about keeping it clean though.
It's really all about standing around drinking Dave's beer.

is it possible you checked your chain tension at the "tight spot"?
i.e did you check your tension in several places as there will be a spot in your chain thats tighter then the rest.
just a thought,,
cheers Tim

I normally get approx 25K out of mine, but I've seen a chain kill itself in 2K over a weekend of riding in a hard driving rain.
