Scorpio Alarm problem

Post by graemec »

Wopped a Scorpio on the bike, no probs all went fine armed and disarmed it a few times to test.
All good came back 6 hrs later and its screeching with the indicators on constant but flickering like they are
flashing ultra quick.
Anyone got any ideas why this might have happened other than
"its stuffed mate" ;)
Are you sure i said that???

Graeme, at the risk of stating the obvious - I'd be calling the Scorpio people, as the unit should be still under warranty. :)
I've spent over 40 years of my life riding bikes .... the rest of it, I wasted ..
If it's got wheels or tits, it's gonna give you trouble !

Ya sent two emails and a vid clip of what its doing, just thought someone might have come across this as a problem.
Maybe just maybe i thought I had stuffed something up, but with 4 wires and a Kawasaki harness add on so the whole thing clips together in about 5 mins i don't see how. "sigh" oh well. Not having much luck with electrical gear, my favourite amp went "plooie" bought a new 50 inch plasma got it home plugged it in didn't work now this... bum bum bummity bum

Quick response in case any of you buy one of these and have similar problems.
1st thing is the customer help from these guys is amazing, Marco from their customer support in the US was top notch he even did phone support when i was at the bike to track down the problem i was having! :D
The problem was a false ground, seems i have a problem in the tail light wiring. Direct connection to the battery earth solved my glitch.
Other things these alarms suffer from is voltage drops, anything less than 11.5 volts and they start acting up.

hi. did you get your alarm from the states or locally. thinking about one but the local ones are an older model and I was a bit worried about support if I ordered from the states

oops looked at the web site and they now have the new model here
