BNE: Room for rent (central loc'n with LUG for bike)
Hey guys
My housemate starts a new job in WA from 1st June so I'm looing for someone (hopefully bike-friendly) to rent with. Solid 70's brick apartment block, city views if that bothers you, unrenovated but tidy enough, lockup garage will fit a bike or two but cars go on the street where they belong. Awesome location, bowls club about 500 metres away which has cheap drinks, close to prettymuch everything - Hawthorne/Balmoral for cafes/cheap movies, city/valley/Chalk/Gabba/train station all within walking distance.
Looking at $125pw + bills which I reckon is pretty good given rents at the minute. Rent will stay this way for at least the next 4 months as my lease isn't due for renewal until then, and even then it's heaps cheaper than the market so I think we're pretty safe there.
Room is quite small and would suit a single person, rather than a couple. Has built in robes and would fit a double bed and a computer desk but that's about it. I am not there much and when I am I have TV etc in my room so mostly you'll have the run of the place.
Has street parking, there is a LUG if the person has a little stuff to store but no room for a car as I've already got two motorbikes in there... plenty of room for a scooter or another bike though.
Important
Touch the 12R and you're all kinds of stuffed
Not worried if you're neat and tidy or not, but you must be clean/hygenic. Rinsed dishes sitting in the sink don't bother me, mouldy maggot-infested pots and pans do.
I am *very* laid back but if there's a problem you'll hear about it
Must be able to cover bills/expenses on time. If you prefer we can work something out re: higher rent in lieu of paying bills when they come in.
Treat the place as your own but don't eat all my shit, don't take drugs and don't have raging parties.
I am in Sydney this week for work but feel free to PM and I'll reply when I get the chance to come online.
Cheers
Leigh

HiYa Leigh,
To my surprise, you've had no takers (unless via pm of course). Especially due to your location - I would have thought you would not have any trouble finding a new roomy.
I have just finished renovating a 3brm house at Roselands. . . . . the agent has had the keys for nearly 2weeks now. What I don't understand is:- if there are supposedly sooo many people out there looking for places to rent, (like arent they making bookings to see places these days
). So why am I struggling to find a tenant? ? ?
Admitedly I will be quite pedantic about the tenant that I let it to, as I've just spent a motza on renovating it throughout including a new double garage. But now I'm starting to think I should move in and look for people to share with instead!

Well not from what I've heard bout peoples rent going up by $55/wk etc etc. But I left the $ to the agent, so I would assume it's in line with the market?? And compared with rent my sister pays . . . I believe it's on the mark.Blurr wrote:are you asking to much. Check market rent and assess

Surprised not to have received any interest whatsoever. Have posted this on four different forums, and had one half-hearted response only.
Rent is definitely not too high, if anything it's well below the market and if not then I am always negotiable as the room is a little on the small side.

Being in real estate myself and finding that every property we have that comes up for lease is taken before the old tenant moves out, I find it real hard to swallow that your agent hasnt found someone.ZXRobyn wrote: the agent has had the keys for nearly 2weeks now.
