I've dropped an E, so forgive my typing!

Post by Strika »

Hi all, well, yes....it's true! I dropped an E! Well..... to be honest, I dropped it a few days ago, but have struggled through, carefully correcting everything before hitting send! But, my patience is wearing thin!!!!! :x Plus my finger is getting sore!!! I'm not sure if I can gt it fixed or if I will have to replace the whole lot? Maybe some more experienced people in this area might be able to shed some light on the subject? Cheers! :D

Yeah and it's a bastard smitty! It keeps catching on my little finger on my left hand! If I don;t take a lot of time typing, then I miss all the E's! If you go back and have a look at my posts over the last week, (If you have a load of time) you may notice that I keep dropping E's! Pretty cool for an old fart to be getting into dropping E's!

I found the "ICE" to be a little expensive compared to dropping an "E"! Mind you, I havn't yet had a chance to price an "E", so maybe I am talking through my arse and the "E" could be more expensive than the trip on the "ICE"!!! Can you just fix the individual one, or does the whole lot have to be done? Maybe it's not replaceable at all, and I'll have to buy a complete new lappie??? I guess I'll do some investigating today sometime. 8)

I'm assuming dropped as in the spring to push the E back up is knackered? What I did with my old keyboard was this:

Find a button you don't usually use, like pause/break or something out of the way. The spring action is just a rubber thing usually that tears after lots of wear. Just replace your old shitty E with the other key's rubber insert and walah!

Depending on the keyboard and what the problem is. . . . but I thought you could just pull it out and then put it back in again ? :?
