Hey guys,
I have a Motorbike alarm system that has been sitting in its box for about a year now... Just wondering if there is anyone who could give me some tips and pointers on installing it?
I mean it looks pretty straight forward but i have no experience so any help would be appreciated
I have a PDF of the 99 zx9r Manual. i has pics of the wiring diagrams and they look heaps different to what is under the seat
Cheers

Re: How To.... Install an alarm
From experiance, go to a mechanic, they are not as easy as they look. Ive got the new scorpio alarm and it took 25 minutes for them to install and my mechanic did it for no charge, but ive been told the cheap ebay ones are really crappy and take a few hours for a trained electrical mechanic!
hope that helps, good luck!

Ive got the new scorpio alarm system: Its a fm 2-way system so it means you get a little remote that works up to 800m that beeps like crazy if your alarm goes off! handy...
The alarms pretty tech, you can have a remote start but it cost more money and yeah you dont need it! Mines just got a normal lock setting and a proxcimity setting so noone can even touch it.
Also the remote has a lithium battery and a charger so you dont have to replace the battery every week compared to all the others. It also hooks up with all you ignition and blinkers so noone can tamper with the ignition and you indicators do that flash and beep beep alarm thingy, which i love. Mines the 2007 it was 540 including installation just from my mech.

Re: How To.... Install an alarm
Yeh it looks like i will take it to a mechanic - i can understand where everything should go, i just don't wanna stuff the electrics in the bike i don't have any testing gear.
All the wires go under the seat into a junction box just gotta figure out which is which. The antenna, alarm (siren) and the Led light go else where - looks like I'll have to take off the tank to run some wires with the existing looms then somehow mount the LED light somewhere on the dash without it looking too doggy.
Can anyone recommend a Motorbike electrician on Brisbane's Northside? or does anyone know what it would cost to get one installed?

Put the LED in the tail light mate............saves a load of grief
