hey guys, today i sadly laid my baby down, oh and the ironic thing was i slowed down and was turning off not speed at that point lol well i need a new sticker kit for a zxr250 type "a" any shops that i could get them and a rought price?

Yes check your local dealer if you want to keep it standard & yes it will be expensive

thanks mate, ive looked on the net nothing realy came up i calld sumoto in north melb they told me 350 paintd n stickerd up which i think is a bit of a rip off

When we rebuilt a 6R after it went for a slide down the street, bought a decal set from Ebay, might find something there.

have visited here before Sara & they have a pretty comprehensive site, we use it for reference occasionally, not me personaly, but one of my graphic artists frequents it to get information.

myself & a mate have been in the sign game for ages- about 15 years.

we are serioulsy considering setting up the service for exacltly this type of thing.
genuine sticker kits ARE expensive?!

we are building up our inventory of sticker kits for all motorcycles & (especially) racing bikes as we specialise in full sign wraps - this saves on having to paint the bike in the first place as we install direct to supplied after market race glass or fairings.

as far as we know, no-body in nsw let anlone sydney offers this kind of thing.

also, we can do custom jobs like the ones below. we did the 71 number & the logos on the green part of the fairing for the duke, & the dirt bike bits were easy to install.

any takers for a road race bike?

or how about feedback in this regard before we go throwing money at an idea??

A few small businesses have looked at the idea before & as far as local work goes it is not a sustainable type of business, if you have a world market then maybe you could pull it off. You would require a huge library of stock images for replacement kits & unless you are screen printing some of the stickers it would be near impossible to replicate some of the bike decals needed. A few questions that would be valid for the type of work you are doing, does your digital printer have a facility for printing white? this is a must to replicate original stickers & what sort of laminations are you using for the motocross stickers? your sample does not seem to have any? the reason for that question is you need speciality equipment to do the MX stickers properly encapsulating with thick clear resins is not an easy thing to do. + the fact that these types of stickers are die cut, not cut from a plotter.
Honestly I would stick with car wraps as there is more work for it & trying to wrap a motorcycle fairing PROPERLY well I would like to see that.... as there are too many complex curves to work around to get a seamless finish & bike owners are a fussy lot
You would really have to challenge the idea of doing this, as there are so many variables & not to mention the down time of creating a suitable library of replicated images, & to recoup this cost would require a ton of work
Just a opinion & I have been in the Sign & Screen Printing industry for 23 years & have owned my business for 15 years employing 11 staff & if there was an easy way of doing this, then someone would be doing it already including me

sure enough 23 years is stacks of experience & thanks for replying - it hits the nail on the head.

everything you mentioned rings true.

we do have a big inventory of logos & basically anything can be done - given the artwork.
but, then again it might be best to keep this as a hobby for the moment...

The perfect Idea ....just do it on the side as a hobby & slowly build it up, if your work is good enough it will sell itself
