What are these like? Sounds like a good bit of bike for the cash...

Dunno about the 1100, but the 1200 is great. Handle a lot better than the ZZR12 they share an engine with. :( You can always hot them up with ZZR cams. Brakes aren't too bad either and once again, better than the ZZR. ZZR also shares the same cartridge forks but the ZRX has multiple adjustment where the ZZR does not. Sick of the Suzuki already?
2 X ZRX1200R 4 X ER6N, GT550, 1988 ZX-10, 4 X GPZ250R, 4 X GPZ900R and GPZ750R :) Yeah I like Kawasakis.

Not sure. I've never really gelled with it like I did with the XJ. Thinking maybe go for a big bore again, but maybe secondhand this time. Dunno what the new 1200's are worth, but may look at them. But there is a bit of an appeal to going for something secondhand rather than new at the moment...

Mate I dont know what sort of riding you do, but the ZZR will out handle a ZRX any day!!!

The ZZR's after 2003 models have adjustable preload and compression dampening, but no rebound dampening adjustment. The trail offset and internals of the cartridges are different also.
As for brakes never had any problems with either ZRX or ZZR they do both however improve noticeably with the addition of braided lines.

So what do you reckon about the price/etc of that bike? Worth a look?

As far as red book values go its in the ball park, lot of K's though. Depends on what your budget is! Doesnt cost anything to look!

Yeah, he's kinda to the point eh?

There's another one around here for $6k with only 50,000km...just no rack...+6 months Qld Rego + RWC which seems a lot less hassle to me than going all the way down to Port Mac just to have a look :D

Of course, if I stray away from Kwaka's there's also some Diversions and an FJ1200 or two nicely in my proposed budget.

Late last year I sold my 99 11 for $5,800 - bog stock with 48k kms. The price seems reasonable for the bike with the extras but you should be able to bargain down to $5k - 5,200 for cash with winter approaching. Great bike - you won't be diappointed.

I know a certain Qld'er who used to own a *very* fast ZZR1100.............he loved that bike a lot. He was also insanely fast upon it..... until it died from too many 3rd-gear clutch-ups.......

Nothing wrong with the way either of them handle. However, on a twisty road, the ZRX will win hands down due to one reason! Ground clearance!! The ZZR12 drags it's arse on the ground very early on. The rex on the other hand can be leant over some considerable amount!!!!! The ZZR has a stiffer chassis and sharper turn in, but once on it's side the Rex will hold a line just as well as the ZZR. The Rex wins the comfort stakes as well. 8) The Rex motor also has to be close to the perfect road bike engine. Grunt in any gear at almost any revs!!!! It makes me giggle!!!!

Go and do it Felix you won't be disappointed. After witnessing Phil and Marty on theirs over the last week, I'd back a well ridden ZRX against just about anything a mere mortal is going to ride on the road.
