Hoff-Guard 3000 Radiator Protector $9.99
Hoff-Guard 3000 Radiator Protector $9.99
Hi,
Dont be a fool and buy a heavy old school radiator protector for $100+ from some dodgy dude on ebay !!
Make yours, like me, out of race spec super light weight aluminium, for under $10.....and achieve a "very good race looking" as they say in China !!
Step By Step - see pics for more detailed info.
1. Buy SAAS Mesh from supercheap auto for $29.98, this is enought to do 3 radiators, thats $9.99 each !! its 1200mm x 280mm, and available in Silver, Black, Blue, Pink, Gold etc etc.
2. Remove fairings, measure you radiator, the core only , mine is 38 cm wide x 30 cm high.
3. Mark the Race Spec Mesh with masking tape to the width of your radiator, and cut with either grinder or hacksaw to suit width of radiator.
4. Install the mesh onto the radiator and fix with lockwire to radiator core (yes, poke it through the core) at all 4 corners, and twist and trim the wire.
(Note, As the mesh isn't tall enough leave the small gap at the top of the radiator as shown , but nothing get up there anyway..so dont worry)
5. Hey presto, your done, put your fairings back on and go cruising for chicks !!
So dont have unprotected riding experiences, cover yourself against having to spend beer tokens on new radiators and repairs !
