Anyone heard of SKINS? They are a cover intended to improve the heating efficency of tyre warmers.
I'm looking at getting tyre warmers very soon, and saw skins while browsing. If postage comes to a reasonable price, it may even be worth a group buy??
Biketek Tyre Warmers, as used by british suberbike team $240 + postage from UK Two LED system, one for heating, one for ready - set to 80 deg.
Respro SKINS $60 + postage from UK
I am waiting for postage costs, and will find out if that can be reduced if there are multiple sales.

Re: Anyone heard of SKINS?
Mate, tyre warmers are designed to operate in a way whereby they reach correct heated temp fairly rapidly, and maintain that temp while ever they are turned on and fitted correctly. Skins were originally designed for putting on while sitting on the grid to retain as much heat as possible while going through the pit exit and sighting lap rigmorall! Honestly mate, save your $60 for part payment of race tyres, as if you do a bit...you'll be needing them!!
Oh, unless of course you are looking at gaining that extra 1000th of a second on the opening lap to hopefully gain the world championship! If that's the case they are worth every cent of the $60!!!!!

Cool, I won't bother with the skins then. Variable temp warmers are just over $400 + postage. But from what I've read, most people run 80 dec anyway. For my level of riding that'll be ok, I think.

The ones I have (Diamond Tyre Warmers) are non adjustable. (You've used them) you might wanna jump on there website (you'll have to Google it cause I can't member..but Diamond is the brand) and see how cheap they are from them. I paid around $360 landed for mine three years ago when the dollar wasn't worth a dollar!!!!photomike666 wrote:Cool, I won't bother with the skins then.
