New Bike :)

Post by Neil »

Hey guys, havent posted here in a while and thought i might let you in on the news :D Got my full license last week, and im picking up a 99 R6 (dont hurt me :P) tommorow afternoon.. i'll try and get pics up soon.
Freaking greenslip is apparantly going to cost 700$ cause of my age (18).. that sucks pretty hard..anyone know where to get cheap greenslips?

Also i have a quick question... i have my car P's, and now my full bike license, and im wondering if it is legal for me to ride after drinking (but below the legal limit) even though i would have to be 0.00 in a car. I dont plan on doing it either way, as im aware drinking and riding should never mix, but im curious what the law would be..

Anyways, hope your well

Neil :D

which state??

if u were in SA, u would have to wear a P plate and be regulated to P plate conditions (speed, alc) but still be able to ride over 600cc/Lams bikes...

weird rules they got here...

Congrats on the new bike, even if it's a um one of those!

As for the other issues at hand i would be checking with the RTA.

I reckon just as in a car you need to display p's for another year and .00 BAC, after a year you can then have a beer and ride and take the plates off, that's how it is in Vic and "fairly" sure NSW is the same.

OK so you've done your bike L's, Done your bike P's, you've now had a year on the road since your P's and you now have a full bike license, hence the R6 (noones perfect). Correct?

You also are still on your Green Car P's I presume hence you have a 0.00 limit, certainly in a car.

You certainly don't need to display P's on your bike. Bikes were exempted from the P1, P2 scheme because we (motorcyclists) were smart enough to realise that training would make us better riders back in the mid 80's.

You still have a 0.00 limit on anything I think, although I'm not 100% sure. This is a dicky one because if you didn't have a car license you would have a 0.05 limit.

Damn good question Neil. When you find out let us know :D :D :D

Oh and we're all alowed to make one bike purchasing mistake. Next time ferchrissake buy a Kwaka ;)

Good luck
