Rain in Vic

Post by mmamster »

Sure it is great for the dam levels, but I just checked the forecast for rain over the next month or so, and virtually zero days are forecast with no rain. What happened to the drought?

Bugger of it is I am finally off restrictions on Monday and its too wet to ride and stay dry.

Guess I will be cleaning the bike another 2 or 3 times.

I have given up trying to keep it clean......... not that I was trying that hard to start with...... the back of my bike is no longer green......... its earthen coloured.... you can hardly read the license plate.

Yeah the undertail of mine is impossible to clean. A strange mix of oil, grease and mud which turns to immovable slime.

Spray & wipe it with WD40 before washing it ;)

The 7 day forecast shows rain till at least Saturday next week here in Melbourne. The rain is OK, it's just the 7-12 degree maximum temps which go with it that shit me! The worst of the temps here in Melbourne is that when they say 12 degrees, that means from 2pm to 2.15pm it's 12 degrees, then it's 4 degrees before and after all day!!!!

I managed to snaek out for a couple of hours in the dry today. I rode over to a mate's place to show off the new TRC Carbon Yoshi pipe fitted to the gixxer and then I was going to do a ride up and do some laps of the 20/20 on the dandy tourist road. It was too wet for that in the end but I did take it on to the SE arterial and rev it to 13K in 1st gear. Beautiful sound. Backfires a bit on rolling off the throttle from high revs, which I think means the fuel mix is a bit rich.

Cold and wet is good for the water supply I guess, and the snow. Can't wait for holidays in 2 weeks to FNQ and some sunshine. :D 8) glasses9.gif

I just got back from 5 days in Cairns and Pt Douglas and can highly recommend FNQ at this time of year! :) :) :) Hope you have a ball and the weather is warm and dry for you !! I

I've bin riding to work along the beach road TT in the mornings. The qualifiers seem to be gripping well in the wet and I'm getting more confident each time I go out. I'm really enjoying it.
