Billy - I am sure this won't come as a surprise to you .........or anyone else who has seen the inside of 'The 4th Dimension"....
Up on the wall in my shed are 3 laminated and mounted posters of Kenny Blake. One at Laverton on the RG500, one with Joe Eastmure when they won the Castrol 6 Hour, and one on the Jack Walters Ducati 750SS at Winton? (I think it was Winton...) - they are all up there for the following reasons..........
Many years ago, the guy who runs the Halltech site (Phil Hall), was the Secretary of the local road-racing club (CRRC).
He rang me one night after a 'tip-off'
, searching for as much material as he could find on Kenny, for an upcoming Anniversary publication of the CRRC newsletter - It was the 25th? anniversary of Kenny's death at the IoM.....
Phil came over and grabbed a heap of my magazines from the era (1975-1980), which had any coverage on Kenny Blake at all. We both spent several hours going through the library, and he ended up with *a stack* of information, photos etc.....
Most of which is included in that website above.....
I learnt a real lot about Kenny Blake during the short time I spent helping Phil research his life story, and to this day there is a still a memorial foundation for Kenny Blake, run from Victoria........He was quite possibly the most gifted road-racer Oz has ever produced, in fact he was one of only a handful of racers who could ever declare that they had beaten Giacomo Agostini in a GP !! He was and remains a legend of the sport...
(ps - Phil still has all those mags I lent him back then
.........but he will be returning them to me shortly....
)
Great link Bill !!!
