When does it usually due for major service? Most of them have done on average around 20,000km mark.
Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

Yes. 2000-2001 bikes in decent nick. Considerably cheaper, enough so to offset the 37cc smaller motor.Technik wrote:I am in the process of getting a '02 ZX-636, is there anything that I need to look out for?
Kwak quote 12,000km for valve clearance checks. If my 2001-model ZX6 with 75,000km on it is indicative of the type, they need one shim swap at around the first 12,000km mark to iron out the engine bedding in and assembly-line sloppiness, then they're good for most of the rest of eternity; I checked my clearances a couple of thousand km ago, and they were still within spec. When does it usually due for major service?
Good stuff mate, they are a nice bike. Take it easy for the first few rides, until you get a good handle on *how it goes*.......it will be an eye-opener after your 250 !!!Technik wrote:Thanks for the tips guys! I've just paid a deposit on a '02 ZX-636 yesterday, so excited.
Will be picking it up next week, look forward to the next Nasho Run on Sunday!
Once you have gotten 6 months riding on the 6 under your belt, mate you need to ride a ZX12R !!Technik wrote:......The acceleration of the sixes are so quick compared with my little GPX. One time I was only on 2nd gear, didn't realise I was doing 110km/h - almost crap my pants!
