So long old Friend

Post by Nanna10r »

As a few of the Brisvegan locals are aware.

The "Flying Flatyspot" has been sold. :(

Thanks to Esie for Brokering the intial interest. The down side of this was that Paul the new owner works with her & Nana got the guilts & had to do a full Resto before he would let Paul take it away.

She's been a "Top Old Nail" & Paul is as happy as "dog getting lucky with with Lassy".

A little send off & History lesson for those outside the Nana loop.

1991 FZR 600, purchased second hand in Mid 93 for $7500 from Northside Yameeha. "Went like Stink" & was awesome for buzzing the Squids at the time.

After my divorce, It was my only form of transport for about 5 years & we did the Brissie commute up the Ippie motorway rain (whats that ?) hail or shine.
Over the next 14 years she some 90000 ks, including a couple of extremely painful tours too central west NSW & Cidernee.

In march 04 i bought "Tiggr" & Janelle decided she would use the fzr to get her licence. I Spent a coupla grand renovating the old girl for safety reasons & Janelle Proceded to drop it every 3-4 sets of traffic lights (she's not short ... just Gravity enhanced .. honest.)
Around this time I joined Ksrc & since the fzzr was in reasonable nick i started doing some track days with the Qld Ksrc kids at norwell then Darlington Park. The Fzzr wasn't Not really up to the challenge of the more modern gear but she wasn't by any means embarrassed. Quite a few of the locals guys got to Give her a floggen" on the track or on a Ride if they needed a bike.
Highlights include Low siding on diesel at the centenary round about in 1997. Fuck i'm going to run over by a volvo
Passing Big Kev on his 12r at Darlington park track day, playing tag with Strawbs at Morgan park, then swapping bikes & doing it again & off course the look on Yappa's face when he pumped the battery isolator switch at morgan park & thought he blown up the motor on the second lap. .

Good bye old girl thanks for the Smiles.

I can understand how sad it is to see a bike go that you have owned for so long. Great little bike the FZR too- a mate of mine owned one a couple of years ago that astounded me (I owned a ZZR11 at the time) how well it cornered, and went. I can only imagine how good a R6 is. (two generations newer.) :)
2 X ZRX1200R 4 X ER6N, GT550, 1988 ZX-10, 4 X GPZ250R, 4 X GPZ900R and GPZ750R :) Yeah I like Kawasakis.

I'm with you mate..........its easier to hang onto them and eat cheese sambos for a month...... oh and build another shed every couple of years

Ponti - I am sure you will still see your old nail around every now and then, and as long as its gone to a good home, well thats the most important thing. Who knows, you might even get to throw a leg over every now and then......

Paul & his Missus are stoked with the Fizzer :) I told Paul that he can, and in fact, must, come along on KSRC Qld rides, but we will have to hide him & the Yammy in the middle of the group. :D
Cheers,
Anne
