squeaky ish suspension
hey
anyone know whether its normal to hear, an 'escaping air' sound when you rock back and forth on your bike?
In other words should the shocks be totally silent when they compress? or should you hear the sound of escaping air.
And would this mean your shocks need new oil??
cheers

It's the "Air compressing between your Wrinkly old Arse cheeks". Gos has the same problem on the super dooper trip.
Yes it's normal to hear noises from your suspension like squishing Kishy with a Steamroller.

Good question, but it's the nature of the beast sadly. On a more serious note, it's a bit hard to answer your suspension question because we can't really hear the sound you're talking about...hence Grasshopper's question.BikerBoy wrote:why must every forum topic get hijacked by dudes giveing shit to eachother.
All I can add is that they do make a bit of noise when they are working properly. The rear has compressed gas in it and the front an airspace at the top that is getting squished up, however anything that sounds excessive or like air leaking etc. probably isn't good and should be checked out by someone who can hear it and knows what they are listening for.

If every technical question simply resulted in boring techinical answers, this place would be as boring as a BMW owners forumBikerBoy wrote:why must every forum topic get hijacked by dudes giveing shit to eachother. ....

Hopefully the right mix of answers, combined with some harmless shit-slinging makes this place a bit more humerous than a straight-out technical robot service ?? Most serious questions do get serious answers......I will say though, that sometimes the continuing breakdown of threads into a *homo-erotic* shit-slinging fest does wear a bit thin occasionally....
