LUCKY TO BE ALIVE

Post by sicarius »

Hi Guys and Girls, On February 22nd, I was run down in my street at Burpengary Queensland Whilst riding my mountain bike. I was left to die on the side of the road with horrific leg and hand injuries. The two occupants of the Black Holden Commodore sedan sped off, leaving me for dead on the side of the road.
I managed to get myself together, and walk 200 metres along the street knocking on doors for assistance.

I have close on 400 stitches in my left thigh, and may never fully recover from the injury. I have had to have numerous operations to insert pins in my hand and rejoin severed tendons in my fingers. ( Spewing it's my clutch hand too...BUGGER).

I refused to lay on my back in hospital and feel bitter and sorry for myself... so, the next day I got up and walked downstairs to the phone and called my fiance to come take me home. ( hurt like hell , but hey....)
I'm recovering well, but it's going to be a long time before I'm able to ride my bike again.
I just recently took my little ZZR 250 off the road for a full make over and respray ( BLACK ), and now I cant ride it. Thats what hurts the most.

I have tried to post some photographs of my injuries but I'm a forum virgin remember, so I'm not sure if it'll work. :D

Anyway, I guess what I want to say is that life is precious, and it only takes some dickhead to take it away from us.
As motorcyclists, we fall into that HIGH RISK category.... and I urge all riders, regardless of their ride or experience, BE CAREFUL. These injuries were sustained from a direct hit from a car at 70 kph...What hope do we have of surviving at 100kph?
I'm not about to give up riding, but the realisation will stay with me for the rest of my life...

Hope everyone is doing well and I look forward to catching up with you all again soon.

Thanks Mate. Yeah, I know the driver and passenger :? ... My Fiance's ex boyfriend and brother...pair of no hoper druggies who abuse women and children . The biggest problem we have is they both reside in Armidale NSW... But there are many forms of justice.
Thanks for the well wishes. :)

That is truly farked...especially (if I get the message right) that it was done on purpose.

Isn't that attempted murder or something?

Hope you heal up totally and comfortably.
Just one more law and everyone will be safe.
