A light switch - fark, not hard two mounting screws, three wires held in by grub screws and new unit avail at bunning for about $10. Should take about 10 mins to change. Don't forget to turn the power off first eh?

Yeah Mike got the screws out, got the 3 wires visible etc etc, old light switch only had two terminals, 2 red wires joined together as one, so do these now separate, do I only need one/both and what goes in what hole??

what do u wanna know.

if its an old round klunk switch turf it and get a clipsal or equivalent replacement.

u need the two wires cos the switch is the break in the circuit. u need an "in wire" and an "out wire".

why not blue and brown :?: is it a DC cct :?:

anyway, when u explain stuff like this to retards u have to use simple language. So. we'll just stick to "in wire" and "out wire"

actually you are right, should be blue and brown, but I've seen TPS in red and black.

Anyway, yes, they are 'in wire' and 'out wire'.

Mick,
its only a switch mate
Keep your wires the same in other words if the 2 red are together at the moment keep em that way

Replicate what was there Champ. Ignore the extra terminal holes on the new switch. If its fused pull the LIGHT circuit fuse out n put it in your pocket till your done.
Make sure the globe works before you start, turn off breaker or remove fuse & make sure it doesnt work before you touch any wires.
HTH.
Besides its only 240V 12Watts, better then coffee for a morning pick me up.

Don't forget the test for live wires is to touch them to your tongue.
