Sending luggage in the mail to PI

Post by MickLC »

I know a few of the guys are going to be sending their gear down to PI in the mail so that they don't have it weighing them down through the Snowies. I think this is a mighty fine idea and would like to do the same, but I've never done it before.

So what's involved in doing this? Do Australia Post just let you post something to a post office and let you pick it up from there? How far ahead can you post it, and how long will they hold it for? Can you just post a bag as is, or should you wrap it up to make sure that it doesn't end up with a kilo of silly weed in it?...hang on, that's not a bad idea

Thanks for the offers and PM's guys, I should've known that what turns out to be a stupid question would bring out the generosity of KSRC...what a place! I've gone to Plan B and it should all be sorted 8)

I'm hoping all I should have to have on the bike now for the trip is the tail bag and my teeny-tiny tank bag...the only limiting factor being how grungy I want to get  but then as long as no-one has to ride behind me, it shouldn't be a problem

...and thanks for your offer too Mario, how about I just send the tyres instead to save on postage?
