And another ones gone!

Post by Strika »

Not good news at all......... http://www.theage.com.au/news/national/ ... 12275.html

The headline reads like the typical suicidal motorcycle rider hitting the back of a truck I reckon. Once you read the story it explains it very subtly! If I were a Journo My headline would read..."TRUCK DRIVER MURDERS BIKER" it a little closer to the mark at least! :?

thats very sad.
and a waste of life caused by someone not bothering to take proper care when driving their vehicle.

i bet his first words were "i didnt see him".
well did you look properly?

now he has to live with this mistake for the rest of his life.

RIP mate.

2 others in NSW over the weekend but I didn't bother posting details, we all know it can be dangerous no need to stick it in everyone's face I reckon unless it's someone we know in which case it should be left to person/s that knew him/her to alert the rest of us.

Not a complaint about the post incidentally, just a personal viewpoint on the rider dying thing, if the truckie is in the wrong he'll get the bog standard <>$500 fine and that's the end of it.

Title: Motorcylist dies after smashing into truck

The report: "He (the motorcyclist) was travelling inbound when a dump truck made a u-turn in front of him," the spokesman said.

I know you weren't having a dig at the post Mick, but I posted this not for the death of the rider so much, as the headline in the paper! It is almost misleading! :o

There's no almost about it, they tried to make out that the bike was at fault, while just skimming over the part about the truck pulling a u- turn in front of him ! I wonder how the story would have read if it was the journo's kid on that bike ???

Well being a motorcyclist and also haven driven my fair share of trucks, lets just not blame the truckie. Sure he has turned in front, but what speed was the bike going ?? I find it amazing at how many people will blame the truck regardless. Now what if that driver didnt see the bike and he has turned, imagine how he is feeling. Or what if because the bike was going to fast the driver misjudged the travelling time. Remember we all make mistakes but unfortunately this one has cost someone his or her life. I laugh at truck haters and remind them how there food got on the table, or how the materials were delivered for the house they live in.. :? Now i do admit there are some moronic truckies, but same applies to car drivers and our fellow riders.

I'm not anti-truckie mate, my dad drove one for 30 odd years, I basically grew up on the back off a truck, but i thought it was Illegal to pull a u-turn on the freeway ???

Yes it is illegal, but what i am trying to point out that there can sometimes be 2 sides to a story, but when a truck is involved they always seem to get the blame regardless. And yes my dad too was a truckie for 30 odd years, and he had some fuckwit come around a bend on the wrong side of the rd, and you guessed it, bloody truck drivers. Damn fuck'n minority groups..

Check the popping neck veins there blue...don't think any of the comments were on truckies in particular and same would have been posted if it was a dog sled being driven by a nun doing a stupid u-turn.
Tragic unnecessary loss of life through stupidity is the point.
Just one more law and everyone will be safe.
